As part of efforts to develop the nation’s economy, CWAY Food & Beverages, has created market for fruit farmers by sourcing orange, pineapple, mango and other fruits locally to produce its soft drinks, food and beverages.

This commitment has helped to also reduce post-harvest wastage significantly in the fruits sub-sector to some percentage due to increased commercial utilization.

CWAY, the producer of Nutri-milk, has created employment for Nigerians, with workforce is more than 800 staff of diverse origin occupying various positions.

Addressing newsmen at the 10th anniversary celebration of the company in Lagos recently, the company’s General Manager, Figo Zheng said the company would continue to make sure that the quality of Nutri-Milk and other products are sustained in spite of the dwindling exchange rate in the country.

He said the company is sourcing raw materials locally to ensure production of quality products, saying that apart from fruits, the company is also sourcing sugar from Dangote.

He added: “You know people say China produces fake, as you know, we are Chinese people here but we produce quality products. We still maintain the quality on our milk powder and part of our materials we cannot source locally, we import them from Europe, we don’t even import from China and Asian but we import from Europe because Europe is known for quality, which is very expensive but we don’t mind because we want to make Nutri-Milk good quality. We source some of our raw materials like plastic, recipes and sugar from Nigeria.”

Company’s Deputy General Manager, Sales and Marketing, Moses Wang, said Nigeria is one of the emerging, increasing and expanding market all over the world due to population, adding the company has been enjoying Nigeria’s market despite enormous challenges CWAY faced. He said the company would continue to grow with Nigerian’s market in the coming years.

He said what sustained the company in the last 10 years was all about quality of its brands rooted in the heart of consumers and support from the management has really help the brands to fly.
