Nissan automobile has been making the news lately apparently from their concept cars at the 2014 paris motor show to interest in grabbing stakes at the upcoming orange African nation’s cup in 2015 and the Rio Olympics 2016.
Nissan has already seen results from its increased
focus on Africa. In 2013, the company hit 26,695 sales units in Egypt, a 24.3 percent increase year-on-year.Market share was 12.3 percent, up by 2.5 percentage points thanks to strong sales of the Nissan Sunny. The company also made a new sales record in Angola. In Ghana, Nissan is the number one auto brand with 30.6 percent market share. Nissan’s dynamic, fresh focus on Africa has seen it begin to overhaul its sales network in many African
countries, taking over primary distributorships and
setting up a plant in Nigeria that is expected to become its third hub in the region, alongside Egypt and South Africa. Nissan sees huge potential to
sell more vehicles in its key markets on the continent,
said Mr. Whitfield, who added that the company plans
to strengthen its market share in sub-Saharan Africa,
excluding South Africa, from the double-digit threshold to 14-16 percent within four years.“We see Africa as the last frontier of the automobile
market-he said.The japanese car-maker’s partnership with the Africa Cup of Nations follows its recent high-profile sponsorship deal with the UEFA Champions League, announced in April and expected to run for four years.In a quest to further
connect the football fans with the brand which would undoubtedly increase excitement around its innovative range of products Nissan has signed the 3three times African footballer of the year and UEFA champions winner- Yaya Troure. He said and i quote “I’m proud to be partnering with Nissan across its UEFA Champions League and Orange Africa Cup of Nations 2015 sponsorships. I have been fortunate enough to win lots of trophies in my career,but the Orange Africa Cup of Nations has always been
my target as an African, so I am really looking forward

excitement around both of these fantastic tournaments to fans around Africa and the rest of the world”.

Yaya joins Nissan’s star-studded team of UEFA Champions League ambassadors, which includes the recently announced Barcelona and Spain midfielder,
Andrés Iniesta and PSG and Brazil defender, Thiago
The UEFA Champions League ambassadors will
work with the company as part of the programs and advertisement crew, which aims to enhance the
experience of football fans through a range of activities including the exclusive Goal of the Week competition.Touré will also star in a series of new television and print campaign for the UEFA Champions League due to premiere in February 2015.

Nissan which is looking to expand its luxury brands debuted with the infiniti inspiration Q80 at the 2014 paris motor show a super machine set to lock horns with the likes of the Mercedes Benz AMG CLS 2015 and BMW series 6 grand coupe and AUDI A7.In its competitive arsenal is the Nissan nismo going head to head with volkswagens golf gti and the Nissan Qashqai a mini crossover SUV ( a roadster designed to give toyota’s new C-HR concept car a run for its money.)
